Who I am
Meet the Teacher
I'm glad you're here. My name is Hayley Ross and the 2023 - 2024 school year will mark my 7th year of teaching. I received my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Studies and English Language and Literature as well as my MAT in 7 - 12 English Language Arts and K-12 ESL from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.
On a personal note, I am Colorado born and raised and grew up in a small town on the Eastern Plains. I loved playing basketball, running cross country and track, and participating in community service driven events when I was growing up. I also coached girls basketball and cross country for the last 7 years. When I'm not teaching, I love to explore the outdoors, attend concerts, travel with my husband and daughter, spend time with loved ones and with my two dogs, Murphy and Ollie. I am also an avid reader, devouring an average of 40 books a year. I love coffee, Harry Potter, graphic design, and sports!
This year I will be teaching Pre-AP English 10 along with English 9. This is also my first year at Cherokee Trail High School. Go Cougars!

My philosophy as a teacher has always been that I am a part of my student's support system. I love parent and guardian involvement in our classroom. We are in this together and both want the same thing for your awesome teenager: Happiness, success, and an education that prepares them for their next chapter.
We are on mission together. It's an honor to be on this journey with you.
